Father of four commits suicide

LAHORE

A father of four committed suicide by taking poisonous pills in the Sattukatla area on Sunday.  The deceased was identified as Abdul Hameed of the Green Town area. Police said he had come to the house of in-laws to reconcile with his enraged wife. But she refused to go with him and demanded divorce, upon which, he took poisonous pills, resulting in his death. The body has been shifted to morgue.  Man dies: A 50-year-old man who was admitted to hospital with a chief complaint of poisoning expired a few hours after his admission.  The deceased was identified as Ghulam Nabi of Javed Colony Factory Area. Police have shifted the body to morgue.

 

 

PHP arrest 49 persons

LAHORE

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested 49 persons on various charges.  PHP teams claimed to have arrested five proclaimed offenders, 11 court absconders, 23 drug pushers and 10 illicit arms carriers. Police recovered 395 litre liquor, 840 gram charas, nine pistols, two rifles, and 88 bullets from the possession of the arrested persons.
