Call to cut in GST
LAHORE
Elimination of unemployment is not the priority of the government and it has increased to an alarming extent. Reduction in general sales tax (GST) and corporate tax and abolition of super tax should be announced to strengthen the private sector.
This was stated by Mujtaba Amjad Pirzada, convener of “Citizen Commission for Economic Development” while addressing a seminar held in connection with the economic issues being faced by the country in a local hotel on Sunday. Mujtaba Amjad Pirzada said that real purpose of establishment of the commission was to highlight economic issues and create awareness for resolution of the issues in active consultation with economic experts. He said that a seminar would be organised in May in collaboration with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that the Citizen Commission for Economic Development had decided to initiate dialogue on economic issues being faced by the country.
