Innovative country

It is a sad state of affairs that Pakistan is the least innovative country is the world. According to the Global Innovation Index report, the country ranked at 119 out of 128 countries in 2016. The main reason for this ranking is the country’s education sector. In Pakistan, no attention is given to scientific education. Schools are following old curriculum with no updates. Exams are conducted according to a pattern that encourages rote learning. Subjects like creative writing and analytical thinking haven’t been introduced in the majority of schools.

Many students do not have an idea what creative writing is. Reading habit among students is not encouraged at any level. The country needs an overall transformation in education system and it should begin from the school level where students are taught about how to put their arguments in a creative way. This would be the only way we can expect to excel in innovation and creativity among students.
