Queensland managed to restore parity in the 25th minute; Fossy Lewis was the scorer. But within one minute, Pakistanis restored the lead through Naveed Alam.

It was 2-1 at the half time.

The second half witnessed an intense battle. The score-line remained the same till the 67th minute. Peshawar’s Afraz Khan scored his second of the day to make it 3-1 for Pakistan juniors.

The Green-shirts chief coach Kamran Ashraf said that in each match players were learning new lessons of hard and tough hockey in the Australian championship. “The good thing is that our penalty corner strikers as well as forwards have shown their skills,” he added.

He said that the players were getting wonderful match experience. “This was their main lacking, but now they are playing most advanced hockey. It is a great alternative of international hockey,” he claimed.
