Mayor, US officials discuss uplift efforts

A delegation of officials from the United States comprising Stephen P Knode, a consulate commercial officer, and Edward JB Burkhalter, head of the political and economic section, called on Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar at his office.

Deputy Mayor Dr Arshad Abdullah Vohra, Financial Adviser Khalid Mehmood Shaikh and Municipal Services Senior Director Masood Alam were also present on the occasion, said a statement issued on Thursday.

Akhtar welcomed the consulate members on their arrival at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) building, where they discussed matters of mutual interest. The mayor also informed the visitors about development works being carried out in the city to improve municipal facilities for citizens. He added that effective monitoring was also in practice to ensure high standards and quality.

The consulate members expressed good wishes and appreciated the mayor's efforts for the city’s development.
