Scattered rain forecast for today

LAHORE

Partly cloudy weather was observed in the City on Thursday while Met Office predicted scattered rain during the next 24 hours in the provincial capital.

Met officials said a westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country and was likely to persist till Friday (today). They predicted that rain-thunderstorm was expected at scattered places in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Sargodha divisions, upper FATA and Islamabad. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

On Thursday, rainfall was recorded in various cities, including Garidupatta, 116mm, Rawalakot, 114, Muzaffarabad, 59, Kotli, 47, Jhelum, 74, Mangla, 66, Toba Tek Singh, 59, Mandibahauddin, 55, Sargodha city, 55, AP, 47, Joharabad, Chakwal, 51, Gujrat, 45, Sialkot Cantt 33, AP, 27, Gujranwala, 29, Murree, 29, Islamabad, 17, Saidpur, 13, Bokra, 11, Golra, 4, Bhakkar, 12, Noorpurthal, 9, Rawalpindi, 9, Chaklala, 8, Lahore city 8, AP, 3, Faisalabad, Multan, Layyah, 5, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali 3, Kasur, DG Khan, Jhang, 2, Kamra, 1, Skardu, 47, Chillas, 39, Bunji, 30, Astore, 22, Gilgit 19, Bagrote, 8, Gupis, 5, Hunza, 1, Malamjabba 19, Dir, 13, Kakul, 11, Pattan, 10, Balakot, 9, Cherat, 8, DI Khan, 6, Risalpur, 6, Saidu Sharif, 5, Drosh, 4, Kalam, 4, Kohat, 3 and Parachinar, 2mm. Snowfall was also recorded at Astore, 12 inch and Sakrdu, 6 inch.

Maximum temperature was recorded at Dadu and Mirpurkhas where mercury reached 39°C while in Lahore it was 26 °C and minimum was 18 °C. Humidity in the air was 49 percent.
