ZA Bhutto left deep political imprints: Baloch
LAHORE
JI secretary general Liaquat Baloch Tuesday said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s style of politics left deep imprints on national and public politics.
ZA Bhutto played a great role in promoting mass politics, challenging dictatorship and uniting the poor, but he could not maintain those positive trends afterwards, Baloch said while addressing a political meeting in NA-126.
He said ZA Bhutto gained high political status but after coming to power his politics fell prey to the politics of Waderas, Sardars and Chaudharis’ grouping.
He said 1973 Constitution, protection of faith in the finality of Holy Prophet (PBUH), according Urdu the status of national language and the steps taken for strengthening the federation were historic steps during the Bhutto’s rule. Baloch said the PPP regained power due to the execution of ZA Bhutto and the tragic murder of Benazir Bhutto but it lost everything because of traditional politics of personal interests and corruption.
He said 2013 elections proved fatal for national politics as regional, ethnic politics and intolerance were promoted and almost entire PPP rule was spent in disputes. National political parties had been confined to provinces only. Opportunists in politics had left negative results instead of service of people, he added.
