Nasty scuffle
These days, Punjab University is facing a war-like situation. The recent violence in the university has created a hostile environment. Pakhtuns were attacked ruthlessly by IJT students when the former were celebrating their annual cultural event. IJT students came with sticks and attacked the students. They destroyed the camps and stalls installed in the campus. Almost 24 students got injured in the scuffle between the two groups.
The university’s administration couldn’t control the situation. The situation got so aggravated that the university called the police. This is not the first time that the IJT has attacked PU students. This incident clearly shows the negligence of the administration of Punjab University. No serious measures were taken to prevent such incidents. This problem needs immediate attention by the authorities. Now is the time for the Punjab government to intervene.
