Commander V Corps Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza on Thursday visited the DHA City Karachi, an upcoming residential project on the Super Highway, which is being expeditiously developed in accordance with the contemporary engineering and urban planning concepts, said a DHA statement.
On his arrival, Lt-Gen Mirza, who is also President DHA Executive Board, was received by DHA Administrator Brig Shahid Hassan Ali.
The commander visited various project sites where development work was going on. He appreciated the pace and quality of the works and the pioneering role of the DHA in building a planned, sustainable and smart city of its kind in the county.
Appreciating the efficacy, vision and development strategy of the DCK, he said the DHA City Karachi had all the potential to provide an ambience of modern, secure and comfortable living to its residents.
The corps commander inaugurated a 1.1 MW state-of-the-art solar power pilot project in the DCK that will harness the abundance of sunshine in the area to produce eco-friendly energy.
He commended the energy smart initiative of the DHA City and stressed the need of conservation of power and use of alternate source of renewable energy to overcome the shortage of electrical energy in the country.
Regarding the ongoing development activities in the DCK, he said it substantiated the credibility of the DHA as a trendsetter in the field of development and town planning.
