PTI stages sit-in against water shortage in capital
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) local chapter held a rally Wednesday and staged a sit-in against shortage of drinking water in the federal capital.
PTI’s Ali Awan, who is opposition leader in the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, led the rally which was not allowed by the local administration then they had to stage a sit-in. Ali Awan slammed the local administration and CDA for non-availability of water to the residents of Islamabad.
He said that the issue of shortage of water was not his but it concerned countless residents of Islamabad. He urged the corporation to take credit and resolve the pressing issue immediately.
Meanwhile, talking to media, PTI MNA Assad Umar wondered that the CADD Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had specially held a news conference on this issue and termed their protest against water shortage negative politics.
However, the PTI leader said the minister conceded that the people of Islamabad were being supplied less water as compared to their daily need. He pointed out that it was for the first time, a minister had held a media conference on this issue.
