Scattered rain lowers temperature

LAHORE

Westerly clouds once again blanketed the provincial capital and brought the rising temperature down through scattered rain here Tuesday.

Met officials said a shallow westerly wave is affecting western and upper parts of the country. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country while light rain-thunderstorm (associated with gusty winds) is expected at a isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad, upper Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall was also witnessed in several cities, including Kalam, Parachinar, Dir, Balakot, Drosh, Saidu Sharif, Malam Jabba, Risalpur, Cherat, Kohat, Kakul, Mirkhani, Peshawar, Bagrote, Astore, Kotli, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Gujrat and Kamra. Tuesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Sukkur where mercury has reached 44°C while in Lahore, it was 34°C, minimum in Lahore was 20°C and humidity was 25 percent.
