Pension issues
By our correspondents
March 29, 2017
In March 2017, the Supreme Court directed the Sindh government to streamline the pension matters of its retired employees within a week. At the same time, the new governor of Sindh has promised to look into and improve the financial health of starving public universities in the province.
It is relevant to point out that the matter of ‘restoration of commuted pension’ after 15 years of retirement of public university employees also needs urgent attention. The retired university employees are suffering due to the absence of rules on ‘procedure to restore and calculate commuted pension’.
