KOTLI: The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan, on Sunday called on veteran politician Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan at his residence at Fatehpur Thakhyala and discussed with him the matter of amendments in the interim Act of 1974.
Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, Minister for Law Raja Nisar Ahmed and Minister for Revenue Sardar Farooq Sikandir were also present on the occasion. After the meeting, the prime minister said all suggestions of Salar-e-Jamooriat will be included in the draft of recommendations for constitutional amendments. He said consultation with the entire political leadership on the matter of constitutional amendments in the interim Act of 1974 is under way.
He said, “We are supporters of development rights of Gilgit-Baltistan and would not create any hurdles in the way. There is a little difference on mechanism which would be settled amicably.”
The prime minister was warmly received at PWD Rest House by Pakistan Muslim League workers led by Malik Yusaf -- an ex-candidate for Legislative Assembly elections in 2016. Later, the prime minister visited the residence of member Assembly Raja Naseer Khan and offered Fateha for his late sister.
