LAHORE
Punjab University (PU) and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Ghanzhou, China, will jointly work on various research projects in the fields of engineering, environment and economics.
In this regard, a 32-member PU delegation, headed by Director PU Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization Prof Dr Tahir Jamil is visiting China's Jiangsu University. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir did not go to China because of the current security situation at PU. A PU spokesperson said the PU delegation comprising teachers and students from Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, College of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Department of Economics, was selected on merit.
The PU delegates called on Jiangxi University of Science and Technology’s President and it was decided in the meeting to launch teachers and students exchange programme between the two universities. The meeting also discussed to jointly work on different research projects in engineering, environment and economics and share knowledge and experience. In a press statement, Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said collaboration with international universities would improve PU ranking and promote quality research in the university. The delegation departed on March 23 and will return on March 29.
