‘Turkish investors interetsed in Twin Tower project’

After getting an overwhelming response from Chinese investors, the tallest building project of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) also attracted Turkish companies and they showed keen interest to invest.

This was stated by LDA Director General Zahid Akhter Zaman while talking to The News here Sunday. He said LDA had informed that pre-qualification for construction of a 28-storey Twin Tower project on Jail Road, Lahore, at a cost of Rs 4.25 biullion was due to commence shortly and requests for proposals and subsequent bidding would take place soon.

He said that recently he had visited Turkey and briefed Turkish private sector representatives about LDA’s future and ongoing projects as well as other vast investment and joint venture opportunities in the real estate sector of Punjab. He said the Turkish Contractors Association (TCA) had hosted the event at its headquarters in Ankara.

he said the province needed at least 2.5 million housing units and thus immense opportunities existed for Turkish investors and contractors.

He specifically highlighted the Twin Tower Project, envisaging a state-of-the-art multipurpose building in Gulberg, Lahore, on a joint venture basis. A senior LDA official, who accompanied the LDA to Turkey, said Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Sohail Mahmood underlined the unique bonds of brotherhood among Pakistan and Turkey. He highlighted the commitment of the political leadership in both countries to transform the cordial ties into a robust economic partnership.
