The Shahrah-e-Noor Jehan police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers led by a female that was wanted for numerous house burglaries.
Officials said the gang comprising the woman and three male members had planned a robbery in a house situated in Block-I of North Nazimabad when they were caught.
The arrested were identified as Humera, Mohammed Iqbal, Mohammed Muneer and Mohammed Nadeem.
The three male members of the gang were also wanted in over a dozen cases of encounters besides the house robberies.
According to the police, the accused have confessed to carrying out robberies within the jurisdiction of Korangi, Azizabad, Orangi, Malir15, Iqbal Market, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Surjani, Paposh Nagar and North Nazimabad police remits.
Explaining the gang’s modus operandi, the police said that the woman would knock on the door and have some child or a senior citizen called at the gate.
The entire gang would then enter the house by holding the person hostage with a dagger.
The dagger and three pistols were recovered from their possession. Further investigations are underway.
