Spring festival begins

PESHAWAR: The people of Peshawar turned up in impressive number at the two-day spring festival that got underway here on Saturday.
District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan took the initiative after realising the importance of the recreational activities.
The day started with ribbon-cutting by the district nazim who was the chief guest at the colourful prorgramme arranged at the Ladies Club in the University Town. The notables and a team of senior bureaucrats joined him as well.
Pigeons were released into the air to give a message of peace and happiness. The traditional Pashto folk dance Attan was performed on the occasion that entertained the audience.
