The Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) welcomed Irfan Moula, previously vice-chairman of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H), to the party on its first anniversary on Thursday.

Moula announced his decision to join the PSP during the first anniversary celebration of the party at Nishtar Park. He told the media that PSP Chairman Mustafa Kamal’s ideology had compelled him to jump ship.

“Kamal’s sincerity towards Pakistan will undoubtedly attract every patriotic citizen of the country to the party, which only talks about the nation, irrespective of their ethnic or lingual background.”

Moula stressed on the need to develop a nation that was free of hate and prejudice and that was loyal to the country. “Inspired by Kamal’s vision, I decided to join the party without any duress from any quarter.”

He said his conscience directed him towards the PSP. “I want to serve the masses, and for that reason I have joined the party, which will provide me with a platform to work for the common man who is deprived of even the basic necessities.”

Welcoming Moula to the party, Kamal said that many key leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and its factions were in constant touch with the PSP.

“The people will witness that this year is of our party and our opponents will be defeated.”

He claimed that many MQM lawmakers as well as members of the party’s coordination committee wished to join the PSP and would announce their decision at the appropriate time.

A day earlier, MQM Member Provincial Assembly Sheikh Abdullah had announced his decision to join the PSP. On the occasion, Kamal had welcomed him and reiterated that people were joining the party because of their policies.

Commenting on returning MQM founder Altaf Hussain’s seized money to him, Kamal said his party was not surprised. “People are the best judge, and they will vote in the upcoming elections with a clear conscience.”

He said the PSP was not worried over any development, domestic or international, as “we have come here to unite the people of Pakistan without any affiliation. God has chosen us to show the right path to the people engaged in wrongdoings, and now they have realised it and are joining our party”.
