Teams picked for Pakistan Cup
KARACHI: The five teams of the 2017 Pakistan Cup One-day tournament, to be held next month, were picked from a draft of 131 players in Lahore on Tuesday.
“The players selection ceremony for the Cool and Cool presents Q Mobile Pakistan Cup 2017 was held at a local hotel today. The five participating teams Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal and Balochistan selected their teams from a list of 131 players from all over the country,” the PCB said on Tuesday.
“All teams were picked by their respective regional head, selector, captain or coach,” the PCB said.
International all-rounder Anwar Ali will lead Sindh, Imad Wasim will be the skipper of Federal, wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan will captain Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Umar Akmal will lead Punjab and left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman will lead Balochistan.
KP will defend the title.
PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, PCB executive committee chairman Najam Sethi, and COO Subhan Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
