SBP, Humak, Omar Associates record comfortable wins

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Omar Associates and Humak Engineering recorded victories inside two days in their third round matches of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II on Tuesday.

In a Group A game, here at UBL Sports Complex, SBP demolished Pak Saudi by an innings and 269 runs.

Having conceded 364 runs lead, Pak Saudi perished for only 95 in their second innings. Spinner Kashif Bhatti got four wickets, finishing with 11 wickets in the match.

Earlier, in response to Pak Saudi’s first innings total of 167, SBP resumed their innings at 223-3 and piled up 531-6 to take a huge lead.

Daniyal Rajput (105*) and Kashif (104*) blasted unbeaten centuries.

Zeeshan Essa got two wickets.

In a Group D clash, at Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot, Omar Associates whipped NADRA by an innings and 119 runs to claim full ten points.

After being forced to follow-on, NADRA were folded for 156 in their second innings.

Hamza Ali Butt scored 46. Zain Ullah and spinner Saad Nasim got four wickets each.

Earlier, in response to Omar Associates’ first innings total of 365-5 declared, NADRA perished for 90 after resuming their first innings at 36-1.

Zain Ullah got 6-25.

At Rana Naved Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura, Humak Engineering defeated Higher Education Commission (HEC) by seven wickets.

Humak Engineering achieved the 117-run target in the 22nd over after losing three wickets.

Zain Farooq made 40, while Tayyab Riaz scored unbeaten 31.

Having secured a 51-run lead, HEC perished for only 65 in their second innings due to lethal bowling from Hafeez-ur-Rehman who got 7-31.

Here at NBP Sports Complex, after conceding 79 runs lead, Haideri Traders were 84-3 in their second innings against Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

Earlier, in reply to Haideri Traders’ first innings total of 225, KPT resumed their innings at 67-2 and went on to pile up 304-5 in the allotted 83 overs.

Ahmed Iqbal hit unbeaten 87 with six fours. Mansoor Ahmed made 76 with nine fours.

Shabbir Ali and Izzat Agha got two wickets each.

Here at SBP Ground, chasing 161, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reached 40-1 in their second innings at stumps against Candyland.

Having gained a 37-run lead, Candyland perished for only 123 in their second innings to set an easy target for their rivals.

Ali Raza and Ahsan Mirza got four wickets each.

In response to Candyland’s first innings score of 208, CAA resumed their innings at 86-4 and were all out for 171 with Haris Ali Khan hitting 72.

Ashiq Ali got 5-68.

At Diamond Club Ground, Islamabad, after being forced to follow-on by ZTBL, Customs were 105-3 in their second innings by the close of play.

Earlier, in response to ZTBL’s first innings total of 352-7, Customs were folded for 116.

At Marghzar Ground, Islamabad, having got 59 runs lead against IMEX, Army reached 60-1 in their second innings.

In response to Army’s first innings total of 387-9, IMEX posted 328 all out in their first innings with Umair Sijad Mir scoring 108 not out.

Muzaffar Iqbal got four wickets, while Shoaib Amir claimed three.

At National Ground, Islamabad, having conceded 193 runs lead against CDA, POL reached 241-8 in their second innings at stumps, on the verge of a certain defeat.

In response to POL’s first innings score of 135, CDA made 328 all out.

At Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, after taking 38 runs lead, PTV were 30 without loss in their second innings against Port Qasim Authority (PQA).

In response to PTV’s first innings score of 318-9, PQA were all out for 280.

At Railways Stadium, Lahore, Brighto Paints gained lead when they made 386-9 with Ashfaq Ahmed scoring 135, in response to Ghani Glass’s first innings total of 226.  Ghani Glass were 137-1 in their second innings at stumps.
