Several held for selling exam cheating material

DIR: Several shopkeepers were arrested for selling pocket guides, making micro photo copies and selling other material used for cheating in exams in Upper Dir district. The drive was launched on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Mehsud. Hundreds of pocket guides and other cheating materials were also confiscated on the second consecutive day in various areas, including Dir, Barawal, Wari. The shopkeepers were arrested for violation of the Section 144, which had been imposed by the district administration before start of the matriculation examination.

 

It’s mad to block social media, says Imran

ISLAMABAD: PTI chief Imran Khan on Thursday condemned blasphemy, saying strict action was needed to curb this menace that was aimed at creating disruption in the society, but the blocking social media was foolish and mad. Talking to media, he said the social media created a revolution in the 21st century that made communication of information matchless and blocking it meant that the country was being dragged backward. He said the social media had many benefits and was being used by the youth, businesses etc, and therefore blocking it was out of question. “Whoever” was trying to block social media, “Don’t force us to take to streets. We are now trained to take to streets, Imran warned. 

 

 SALU employees’ protest continues

SUKKUR: The protest of the employees of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, has been continuing for 15 days. Hundreds of employees observed a pen down strike and staged a demonstration in front of the Academic Block. President Employees Welfare Association Faiz Muhammad and General Secretary Aslam Ghumro said that All Pakistan Universities Association backed their protest and had pledged to go on strike, if the administration of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur did not address the issues.

 

Two clerics of Hazrat Nizamuddin

Dargah go missing in Pakistan

NEW DELHI: Two senior clerics Asif Nizami and Nazim Nizami from Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin dargah have gone missing in Pakistan. India has taken up the matter strongly with Pakistan’s foreign ministry. The clerics had visited Karachi to meet relatives and then went to shrines in Lahore. One of the two Indian clerics is missing from Karachi and the other went missing from Lahore.

 

MIRPURKHAS: A woman gave birth to triplets in village Khansahib Din Muhammad Junejo, near Sindhri on Friday.  According to details, the woman, with normal delivery, gave birth to two baby girls and a boy in the PPHI Maternity Home. In-charge of the  maternity home Dr Naheed told APP that all of three newborns and their mother, a resident of Kandiaro, are in good health.
