LAHORE
Cloudy weather with scattered rain was observed in the provincial capital here Tuesday while Met office predicted similar conditions during the ongoing week.
Met officials said a westerly wave has entered Pakistan and likely to persist until coming Saturday. They said following the presence of this system, rain/thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected with intervals at scattered places in KP, Fata, Islamabad and upper Punjab while isolated rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is also expected at a few places.
They predicted that rain/thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during Wednesday to Saturday while rain/thunderstorm is also expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, DG Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions on Wednesday (today).
On Tuesday, light rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Punjab, Peshawar, DI Khan, Kohat, Bannu, Sukkur divisions and Kashmir while dry weather was observed in other parts of the country.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities, including Toba Tek Singh and Jhang (03mm), Kot Addu, Kasur and Joharabad (02mm), Chakwal, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Layyah, Mandi Bahauddin and Mianwali while in KP, rain was observed at DI Khan, Bannu, Abbottabad and Barkhan. Tuesday’s lowest minimum temperature was observed at Quetta where mercury dropped to -05°C while in Lahore, it was 13.8°C and highest was 19°C.
