MANSEHRA: Tehsil nazim in Judbah in Torghar district Abdul Qadir has tendered resignation to provide opportunity to another councillor of his party to become nazim in the light of an agreement reached at the time of installation of government.
Abdul Qadir submitted his resignation to the convener Maulana Shah Zameen on Friday. According to the agreement among the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) councillors, Abdul Qadir was offered the opportunity to become tehsil nazim for one year term, which ended in November last year.
He submitted his resignation after a meeting of the JUI-F Torghar chapter asked him to step down. Another councillor of the party Mohammad Khan would be elected nazim for another one year term. The last two years of the the LG system would be enjoyed by another councillor.
The resignation according to local government Act 2013 would be dispatched to chief minister and on his acceptance the election commission would issue schedule for election of Tehsil nazim.
