NACR services for promotion of agriculture lauded

Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has said that the PSDP allocated money for training farmers to improve production.

Mr Bosan addressing as chief guest at the farewell reception organised here at National Agricultural Research Centre for Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, Director (PR and Protocol), Pakistan Agricultural Research Council said that the NARC is a setup helping in promoting agriculture.

Dr Afzal Khan, former Chairperson, PARC, said that one cannot do justice with one’s job unless he or she has interest and passion for the objectives of the employing organisation. He claimed that no one dies of hunger in Pakistan and the centre had its role in achieving this goal. He said that PARC and its allied departments were highlighted in the media by Sardar Mustafa.

Dr M Afzal Khan, DG NARC, said that Sardar Mustafa translated difficult scientific findings and writings into common man language so that agriculture community could understand it.

Ahmad Bakhsh Mehar, DG Planning, said that Canola now contributing 30 per cent share in cooking oil production of the country was introduced by NARC in this country. He also took credit for controlling bird-flow disease.

He said that Sardar Mustafa was always helpful and busy in promoting the cause of the organisation and also actively participated in the activities of the association.

Sardar Mustafa thanked staff, journalists and Pakistan People’s Party workers for their support for his struggle for the rights of the workers.

Dr Yusuf Zafar, Chairperson, PARC, Dr ME Tasneem, Jamil Ahmad, Dr Nadeem Amjad, Dr Muhammad Azeem Khan, Taj Kiani, Waseem Safdar, Sheikh Pervaiz, Rana Maqsood and Taj Kiani in their speeches appreciated Sardar Mustafa for his services including founding the workers association.
