‘Gangster’ killed, five others hurt in encounter
An alleged gangster died and five others were injured as a shoot-out ensued between law enforcers and a nephew of murdered Lyari gangster Arshad Pappu, Bilal, near the Kala Gate Bridge, Old Golimar, on Sunday.
Police said Bilal and his associates had attacked the drug den run by a criminal, Riyasat, in Liyari Naddi area near the Kala Gate Bridge in Pak colony.
As police and the Rangers reached the scene, an encounter ensued after which one of the alleged attacker was killed while five others sustained bullet injuries.
The police said two of the injured were identified as 18-year-old Mushtaq and 28-year-old Umar Muhammad, son of Basheer Ahmed.
The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, while their accomplices managed to make a getaway.
