The recently elected office-bearers of the Karachi Union of Journalists visited the house of Taimur Abbas, a private TV channel cameraman killed on February 12, to offer their condolences to his family.
Assailants riding a motorcycle had opened fire on a TV channel’s DSNG van near KDA Chowrangi on Shahrah-e-Noor Jehan. Abbas had suffered a bullet wound to the neck and passed away at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The KUJ office-bearers including its general secretary Faheem Siddiqui and executive council member Athar Hussain offered prayers for the departed soul and assured Abbas’ father, Mohammad Ameen, that the union would assist the family in every way possible.
