Militancy victims get compensation
BARA: The political administration of the Khyber Agency distributed cheques among 258 militancy-affected tribesmen belonging to the Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Thursday.
The distribution ceremony was held at the Levies Centre in Shahkas, which was attended by additional political agent Mir Raza, officials of the Fata Secretariat, FDMA, elders and political administration.
Speaking on the occasion, the additional political agent said that the compensation cheques distributed among 258 affected tribesmen of Akakhel and Sipa tribes, whose houses were damaged during the militancy.
He said Rs50.56million had been allocated for fifth phase of the distribution process among the affectees. “At least 1160 compensation cheques have been distributed among the affected tribespeople of the Tirah and Bara areas,” he added. The Fata Disaster Management Authority’s agency coordinator officer Zia Afridi and survey officer Yousaf Shah Afridi and political tehsildar Khalid Khan were present on the occasion.
