Detention cases
The SHC issued notices to the federal and provincial law officers to file comments on petitions against enforced disappearance and detention of citizens allegedly by the law-enforcement agencies.
Petitioners Mirza Abdul Aziz, Mohammad Sharif, Mohammad Sarwar, Abdul Ghani and Noor Nabi submitted that Mirza Abdul Mateen, Maulana Mohammad Saeed, Mohammad Azeem and Haroon Khan had gone missing in Gulbahar, Quaidabad, Saddar and Gulistan-e-Jauhar and their whereabouts were unknown.
The court was informed that Maulana Mohammad Saeed was the pesh-imam of a mosque in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area and Mirza Abdul Mateen was a teacher at a government primary school. The court directed the federal and provincial law officers to submit reports on the next date of hearing about the efforts being made to find the missing people.
