Terror bid foiled, two suspects held in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The police on Thursday foiled a terror bid in the city by arresting two suspected terrorists and recovering heavy arms from them.
A police official told The News the two suspected terrorists first attacked a police mobile at the Frontier Road in the limits of Badaber Police Station. The police returned the fire that left one terrorist injured. He was later arrested.
On his pointation, the official said, the police raided a house at Sheikhan village on boundary with Bara area of the Khyber Agency. Another terrorist was arrested from there.The official said the weapons seized during the raid included 14 rocket launchers, 16 fuses, which are used in explosive devices, four handgrenades and two Kalashnikovs.
Later, the official said, the terrorists were identified as Munawar, son of Umar Khan, a resident of Bara, and Said Noor, son of Muaaz Khan, a resident of Akakhel Bara now living in the Sheikhan village. The official said that the Frontier Road was known for militant attacks on the security forces and police.
