Cherat Cement has announced net profits of Rs1.025 billion for the half-year ended December 31, 2016, which is 51.6 percent higher than Rs676.2 million earned during the same period of the last year. The earnings per share (EPS) for the period under review clocked in at Rs5.8 as against Rs3.83 last year. The company also announced a cash dividend of Re1/share. Sales revenue for the halfyear stood at Rs4.08 billion as compared to Rs3.489 billion in the same period of the last year. For the quarter ended December 31, 2016, the company posted net profits of Rs620.83 million, translating into EPS of Rs3.51 as compared to the profits of Rs407.74 million and EPS of Rs2.31 during the same period of the last year.
