Ex-minister vows to move PHC against KP CM
PESHAWAR: The former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial minister and Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ziaullah Afridi said on Tuesday that he had collected proofs of corruption against the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and decided to file writ petition in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for his disqualification.
“I have decided to move the PHC against the chief minister in the PHC,” the former PTI provincial minister told reporters after consulting the matter with legal experts at the PHC.
Ziaullah Afridi claimed that he had collected proofs regarding involvement of the chief minister in corruption. “I am going to file writ petition against the chief minister within three days,” he said, adding that he would present all the proofs before the court.
“Some of my proofs against the chief minister would be based on the statement and resignation of the former director general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) Lt Gen (r) Hamid Khan.
The former director general had found out that the chief minister was involved in cases of corruption,” Ziaullah Afridi revealed. He further stated that he had evidence about the clandestine meetings of the KPEC investigators with the chief minister.
Ziuallah alleged that the chief minister had appointed a murderer as investigator against whom five first information reports (FIRs) were registered. He termed the spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani’s statement as wrong and said that he accepted and respected the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission. On Monday, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, rejected the corruption allegations levelled against Chief Minister Pervez Khattak by former provincial minister Ziaullah Afridi and said the provincial government would file a defamation suit against him.
