New corps commander assures governor of full cooperation
The newly appointed corps commander of Karachi, Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza, called on Sindh Governor Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui at the Governor House on Monday.
They discussed the law and order situation in the province as well as the ongoing operation, said a Governor House statement.
The governor felicitated Lt-General Baig on assuming responsibilities as the corps commander.
He was of the view that owing to the ongoing operation, the law and order was being restored, as were
economic, cultural, social and political activities in Karachi.
The governor lauded the sacrifices rendered by the law enforcement agencies and said that those sacrifices would not be allowed to go in vain.
He further stated that the result of the operation was very encouraging and it would continue till its logical end and the elimination of terrorism.
Justice Siddiqui said that with the restoration of law and order in the metropolis, foreign investment had also increased. He pointed out that the government would extend assistance to investors. The corps commander assured the governor of full cooperation on security issues.
