HAFIZABAD: Unknown people murdered a seven-year-old girl after raping her here on Tuesday evening.
Aiman Fatima, daughter of Muhammad Nasir, a resident of Mohallah Mian Dakot, went to a shop from her house and did not return home till late night. Her family launched a search and informed the police about the incident, but they did not take notice of the incident. On Wednesday morning, her body was found from nearby fields and shifted to the DHQ Hospital for an autopsy.
After getting information about the incident, hundreds of people, including men and women, gathered at the hospital, took the body into their custody and reached the Fawara Chowk. They blocked the traffic by placing the body on the road.
They also burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the police, holding them responsible for the incident. They appealed to Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to take action against the responsible policemen for negligence. They also demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
