SZH budget approved

The 45th meeting of Board of Governors (BoG) of Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex and Hospital on Thursday approved the annual budget 2016-17 of Rs.4654.578 million.

The meeting held at Civil Secretariat was chaired by Provincial Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Kh Salman Rafique.

According to a handout issued here, the BoG also principally approved the proposal for revamping of Sheikh Zayed Hospital (SZH) at a cost of Rs 200 million. However, the details would be finalised in collaboration with the Specialised Healthcare Department and Sheikh Zayed Hospital. The meeting also gave approval for creation of 100 seats for trainee doctors.

The board of governors also constituted a high-level sub-committee headed by Prof Anwar A Khan to deal with the important matters and prepare recommendations for the development projects. The committee will work on fast track and furnish its recommendations in the next meeting of BOG. The agenda items regarding the recruitment on vacant posts, promotion of senior doctors, construction of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Medical and Dental College Complex and preparation of its PC-I as well as other administrative and financial matters came under discussion.  Secretary Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah, Law Secretary Abul Hassan Najmi, MPA Ghazali Saleem Butt, UHS Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Aslam, Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex Chairman Prof Fareed Ahmed, Prof Anwar A Khan, Prof Nusrat Chaudhary, MM Khan, Chamber of Commerce Chairman Abdul Basit, health consultant Dr Naeem ud Din Mian and representative of Finance Department attended the meeting.
