Parents have shown a lot of concern about the security of tuition centres, where the students go to take their extra classes of various subjects.
The public and private schools in the twin cities come under Federal and Punjab governments and the security measures are beefed up in the twin cities but no attention has been given to these tuition centres, where scores of students go everyday to attend their classes.
Since the schools are closed and the studies are being hampered by the security issues, the students enrolled in these tuition centres have doubled in size coping with their studies and making up their lost time.
Be it science or commerce subjects, these centres provide the much needed ‘extra pressure’ on students to perform better in their examinations. Tuition centres in Pakistan have shown mushroom growth in number of cities in the country where students take classes or strengthen their skills on various subjects. These centres offer different packages for subjects taken individually or in a set of three to four subjects. The attraction of these centres are these that they are affordable for students whereas it is very expensive for parents if the tutor comes home to the student and give personal attention to the students.
The parents are very much concerned about the security of these centres because most of them are located in the commercial areas of the city.
One could find many tuition centres in Chaklala Scheme-III, Murree Road, Sadiqabad, Officers Colony, Shams Colony, Jahangir Road, Jhanda Chichi, 6th and 7th Road, Satellite Town, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Dhamiyal Road, Afshan Colony, Westridge, Peshawar Road, Saddar, High Court Road, Gulraiz, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Tahli Moohri, Airport Society, Nazimuddin Road, Islamabad, Margallah Road, etc
Masooma Naveed, a mother of a students whose taking classes in one of the tuition centres located in Chaklala Scheme-III, said that with this situation how can we remain satisfied for the safety of our children where there is not a single guard securing the premises. We need the government to keep this thing in mind and persuade the owners of tuition centres to take necessary measures for the security of our students. With the school’s opening dates are already going ahead, we as parents ask the authorities to take stern actions against those who don’t fulfill the necessary requirements for the security of such tuition centres.
