Reza enters ITF event second round

KARACHI: Reza Ali Mirza cruised into the second round of men’s singles 45-plus event when he beat Azharuddin Khan 6-3, 6-4 in their opening match of the inaugural Karachi Gymkhana Toyota Pakistan ITF Seniors Tennis Championship at the Karachi Gymkhana here on Friday.
Noorullah Dhanani eased into the second round after he got a walkover against Furqan Khan.
In 35-plus men’s singles second round, Asad Ali Bhagat blanked Irfan Illahi, recording a 6-0, 6-0 victory and Ali Bhagat beat Zulfiqar Ali Khan 6-4, 2-2 (Rtd). Muhammad Manzar thrashed Salman Maniya 6-1, 6-2.
