Rawalpindi: "Destiny affords every nation an opportunity to improve its lot and overcome its deficiencies. However, only the leadership having sound future vision and prophetic foresightedness could only take benefits by their exemplary moves. These rare qualities of leadership were abundantly bestowed upon Ch Rahmat Ali by the Almighty, who composed, coined and consolidated the name of our beloved homeland some 14 years earlier than its coming into being.”

These views were expressed by M Yousuf Aziz while presiding over a seminar held under the auspices of Pakistan National Movement at Postgraduate College for Women 6th Road. Principal Prof. Dr. Aliya Sohail was guest of honour at the occasion.

Elucidating his point of view Yousuf Aziz said that when all the political entities of South Asia on behalf of the then British imperialism were united to frame a constitution of "Indian federation" in 1933, this was only the single voice of Ch. Rahmat Ali who ceased the historic moment and opposed this hilarious political move vehemently and with full force of his conviction and truthfulness for the cause of future generations of the Muslims of South Asia. He availed that moment of the destiny and published his well drafted and reputed pamphlet."Now or Never" and thus paved the way forward for the creation of an independent and sovereign Muslim State. He opposed the hidden agenda of ever squeezing Indian mindset and Indianisation of all the political entities of South Asia.

He said that whereas almost all Hindu stalwarts like M.A.K. Ghandhi, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Ambaidkar, Chinese poet Ji Pheng and Turkish journalist/writer Khalida Adeeb Khanam consider him originator of the idea of Pakistan, we are still wondering to assign him his due status in our history.
