PHC suspends cancellation orders
Varsity employees’ upgradation
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) suspended the orders on the cancellation of upgradation of a number of officials of the Abdul Wali Khan University on Tuesday and ordered the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and varsity administration to submit its report at the next hearing.
A division bench comprising Justice Nisar Hussain and Justice Roohul Amin heard the case in which the syndicate of the university had approved the upgradation of a number of officials up to grade 19.
The HEC made objections to the process after which the chancellor of the university cancelled the upgradation.The employees of the university had moved the PHC that stopped the chancellor from cancelling the upgradation process. The university administration and the HEC were directed to submit replies at the next hearing.
