SUKKUR: The Awami Workers Party staged a protest demonstration against the high prices of pesticides.
The party took out a rally in Larkana which culminated at the
Larkana Press Club where Roshan Kalhoro and Zulfiqar Brohi told the protestors that the companies selling pesticides had enhanced the price of their products.
They also criticized the government for having raised the price of fertilizers.
They said that the government had not been fixing a fair rate for paddy and rice, but it was enhancing the price of pesticides which was an injustice.
They said that the government claimed that agriculture was the backbone of the economy, but its policies were destroying the agriculture sector.
