Trinity Pearls College clinch softball title
KARACHI: Trinity Pearls College recorded a 7-5 victory against Trinity Queens College in a thrilling encounter in the summit clash and clinched senior event title in Irene Pearl School and College Softball Championship at Trinity Girls School and College Ground here on Friday.
In the final of the school event, Trinity Unity School overpowered Trinity Integrity School by 8-4.
The championships were organised by Sindh Softball Association (SSA) in collaboration with Trinity Girls School and College.
“Such events should be organised at national level,” Arif Ilahi, Chairman Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), said on the occasion. “Many sports have not been given importance, but now sports like softball must be promoted,” he added.
He assured softball officials of PNSC’s help in organising national, international events and arranging foreign coaches for local players.
Arif announced Rs100,000 cash for the winning team players and officials.
Best Catcher awards went to Mursaleen and Alizeh. Shereel and Ayesha Ishtiaq received the best pitches award. Bushra Javed and Babita received awards for scoring most home runs.
