LAHORE: Police have devised a comprehensive security plan on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
According to a handout issued on Saturday, two SPs, 16 DSPs, 30 SHOs and more than 10,000 police officials will be deployed in the city on the orders of CCPO Lahore Capt. (retd) Amin Wains and DIG Operations.
DIG Operations said that all the metal detectors and walkthrough gates were provided to the police to maintain a foolproof security on the occasion. He further said that officials of the Elite Force, Quick Response Force and Reserves Police would also be deployed on the occasion. He ordered all the SHOs and divisional SPs to remain in contact with the administration of the processions and religious scholars.
He appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police for security and try to reach the procession to its destination as soon as possible.
CCPO Lahore and DIG Operations ordered SP Security, Capt. (r) Liaqat Ali Malik, to maintain coordination with all the divisional SPs on the occasion.
