KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan has dispelled rumours that General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was going to head the party, Geo News reported. “There are all rumours that there will be a change in leadership of the party,” Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan said on Wednesday.
“There are no vacancies in the MQM-P leadership. This is not the mechanism we follow,” he said, adding that if there was a change in the leadership, it would be from within the party ranks. Hassan, who is the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly, said that the doors of the party were open for everyone, including former president Musharraf and former Sindh governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan.
