Shahbaz approves motorbike ambulance service
Says will ensure latest medical facilities to people by implementing reforms
LAHORE
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved Motorbike Ambulance Service and said quality treatment is right of every citizen and for this purpose, the Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme.
He said that reforms programme had been evolved for setting up healthcare system on modern lines and we have to move forward speedily for implementation of this programme. He said the Punjab government would ensure latest medical facilities to the people by implementing reforms programme through innovation in healthcare system.
He was reviewing proposals regarding implementation of reforms programme for the provision of quality treatment facilities to the people of the province, here, Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that provision of modern and quality medical facilities to the masses was top priority of the government and a historic budget of billions of rupees had been allocated for this purpose. He said there was no shortage of resources for providing healthcare facilities to the people. If persons associated with health sector perform their duties efficiently and with sense of responsibility and make correct use of resources, the best medical facilities would become available to the patients, he added.
He said that reforms programme was being evolved for setting medical sector on modern lines and he would personally review this programme for improving healthcare system. The meeting of steering committee will be held regularly every week, he added. The chief minister said the institutions concerned would have to take immediate steps for improving healthcare system instead of lip service and move forward for serving the ailing humanity. Giving approval to launch Motorbike Ambulance Service, he said that reforms programme would have to be forwarded on emergent basis for providing quality medical facilities to the common man. Quality health facilities will have to be provided to the patients after benefitting from healthcare system of Turkey, he added.
Shahbaz Sharif said soon a delegation of experts of Turk Ministry of Health would visit Pakistan for improving medical sector. He said that cooperation of brotherly Islamic country Turkey for the improvement of different sectors in Pakistan and Punjab was appreciable. Cooperation by Turk Health Ministry in connection with training of nurses augers well, he added. He said the experts of Turk Health Ministry would not only impart training to the nurses in Punjab but the nurses would also be sent for training.
Additional chief secretary gave a detailed briefing regarding prospects of cooperation in connection with improvement of healthcare system with officials of Turk Health Ministry during the visit of a delegation of the Punjab government to Turkey.
Parliamentary Secretary Khawaja Imran Nazir, Dr Nadia Aziz MPA, chief secretary, additional chief secretary, Planning & Development Chairman, secretaries of departments concerned, medical experts and members of the delegation who visited Turkey recently attended the meeting.
