Rawalpindi: The District Coordination Officer, Rawalpindi, Talat Gondal has assured that he would do his utmost to resolve the issue of non-payment of pensions to the retired government servants at the earliest for which meetings with the concerned heads of their respective departments would be held.
The assurance was given at a meeting held between the representatives of the Pensioners Action Committee and the DCO in his office here Saturday morning.
The Pensioners Action Committee was led by Chairman Ghulam Mohammad Naz and president, Tahir Mahmood Khan.
During the meeting the committee members expressed concern over non-payment of pensions to the retired government employees of Punjab for the last 9 months.
Ghulam Naz and Tahir Mahmood told ‘The News’ after the meeting that they have demanded off the DCO to resolve the matter within next 15 days in order to provide financial relief, if the authorities take another one month to pay maximum dues then it would become hard for them as they are financially burdened off for the last 9 months.
Ghulam Naz and Tahir Mahmood announced that they would not hesitate to approach High Court if the authorities fail to clear the dues of retired government servants within next 15 days.
