PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the Information Technology Board to integrate the IT labs in all public sectors educational institutions throughout the province.
Chairing a meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat here, he said that the IT Board and Education Department should make a road-map for the IT related activities in the province. The teachers needed to be trained and the students should be equipped with modern knowledge preparing them for future challenges, he added.
The meeting agreed to the recommendations of a committee on the subject for the establishment of an IT park in Kohat. The meeting formed a special committee headed by ACS for construction of 14-story IT Tower at the Agriculture Training Institute in Peshawar.
The chief minister also approved establishment of an IT tower in Abbottabad. He okayed incubation centres at Swat, Bannu, and Mardan, said a handout. He said that the IT Board would have to deliver for economic development of the province. Pervez Khattak hoped that the IT Board would produce trained manpower for the process of industrialisation in the province. He directed officials to efficiently utilise the resources for the benefit of the youth in the province.
