PESHAWAR: The political administration of Khyber Agency has for the first time established the Grievances Redressal and Citizen Feedback System to address the complaints of the tribal people about various government departments.
It has been set up at the Khyber House in which the offices of the political agent of Khyber Agency are located in Peshawar.Talking to The News, Saqib Ali, an official of the complaint cell, said they had received 24 complaints about various line departments in Khyber Agency.
He said nine complaints had been addressed while the grievances of the remaining 15 complainants would be redressed soon. The official said 12 complaints were received from Landikotal, seven from Bara and five from Jamrud tehsil.
The official said the complaints about minor issues would be resolved in three days while the ones requiring thorough consideration would take more time.He said the people could register a complaint about education, health, forest, agriculture, livestock and other departments.
Saqib Ali said a complaint could be registered by dialing 0800-82800 or emailing to feedback@khyber.gov.pk.About the fewer number of the complaints registered thus far, he said most of the tribal people weren’t familiar with the internet and telecommunications.
A complainant, Hidayatullah Khan from Landikotal, said he had registered a complaint about the officials of the Public Health Department and received an instant response from the complaint cell.
“I realised the importance of the complaint cell when I received a call from the Public Health Department officials who had been directed to address my complaint as soon as possible,” he added.
He said the officials of the Public Health Department Fata had put aside his application for a tube-well. “They contacted me to resolve the matter after I made the complaint,” he stated.Hidayatullah said the initiative would help address the complaints of the tribal people.
Another tribesman Manzoor Ali lauded the political administration for facilitating the tribal people and said the grievances redressal system would benefit the common man.He believed most of the tribesmen didn’t know about this initiative and they would benefit from it after being informed about its advantages.
