Uniform national syllabus dire need of the hour

National education policy carrying the national aspirations and introducing a uniform national syllabus and medium of instruction in the country is the dire need of the hour for strengthening national integration and our policy makers and others should shoulder their responsibilities with regard to achieve this purpose, said Mian Siddique Akber.
He stated this after his unanimous re-election as the president of Anjuman Faizul Islam (AFI) Rawalpindi. According to the Election Board of AFI other office bearers elected unanimously are included Dr. Prof Riaz Ahmed, senior vice president, Dr. M.D Khan, first vice president, Abdul Razzaq, second vice president, Raja Fateh Khan, general secretary, Major (r) Basharat Ahmed Kayyani, joint secretary, Raja Muhammad Sabir Hussain, finance secretary and Muhammad Badre Munir, publicity secretary.
Mian Siddique Akber quoted QuaId-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah as saying, “The importance of education and the type of education cannot be overemphasized ... There is no doubt that the future of our State of Pakistan will and must greatly depend upon the type of education we give to our children, and the way in which we bring them up as future citizens of Pakistan.... We should not forget that we have to compete with the world which is moving very fast in this direction”.
He said we would continue to play a purposeful role for national reconstruction through efforts for development and moral re-armament of the society. “Anjuman Faizul Islam is a reform oriented academic and social welfare organisation of repute, which was established at behest of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah”, he added.
He further said that AFI had been making due contribution for social uplift and reformation by providing necessities of life and facilities moral oriented modern education to children from the deprived segment of the society to help them become useful citizens, practicing Muslims, patriotic Pakistanis and balanced human beings. The re-elected office-bearers of AFI also took oath of their offices for next three years and re-affirmed their resolve towards imparting purposeful education and true Islamic values among the students of AFI.
