Dossier on RAW agent Kulbhushan to be shared with UN soon: FO

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday said evidences collected from the Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav were being compiled and given the shape of a dossier, which will be presented to the UN secretary general at an appropriate time.

Speaking at the weekly news briefing here, Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakariya said India’s rapidly expanding nuclear programme posed a grave threat to peace and stability in the region and beyond.

“This build-up has been facilitated by the NSG waiver granted to India in 2008 which not only dented the credibility of non-proliferation regime and undermined its efficacy, but also negatively impacted the strategic balance in South Asia.”

He was of the view that another country-specific exemption by the NSG on the membership question will exacerbate the ill-effects of the 2008 waiver.He said Pakistan hoped that the NSG member states will make a well-considerate decision this time, keeping in view its long-term implications for the global non-proliferation regime and strategic stability in the region.

To a question, the spokesperson said Indian intervention in Pakistan was well proven and “we have irrefutable evidence in this regard”.He strongly condemned the Indian ceasefire violations at the LoC and the Working Boundary.

He said India should respect the ceasefire and refrain from targeting civilians and their properties.He said India was resorting to such acts to deflect the world attention from its ongoing atrocities in Held Kashmir. To another question, the  spokesperson said the Indian Embassy official Surjeet Singh was involved in activities inimical to national security and hence he was given time to leave Pakistan along with his family by tomorrow.

He once again made it clear that Pakistan drew no distinction among the terrorist groups.“We will not allow our land to be used against any other country. Pakistan, in fact, is a victim of foreign-funded terrorist elements and the recent Quetta attack is a clear proof of it.”

He said the Haqqani commanders were killed on the Afghan land in August, indicating where Haqqanis were based.About Pakistan’s decision to attend the Heart of Asia Conference in India, the spokesperson said this process was aimed at bringing peace and stability to Afghanistan with the collaboration of regional countries.

He said Pakistan’s decision was in line with its commitment to support every effort directed towards bringing peace in Afghanistan. “We will continue to play our role in this regard and will not allow the Heart of Asia forum to fall prey to the myopic political agenda of any country.”He said Pakistan also supported the QCG process to bring the Afghan warring parties to the negotiating table.
