Class-IX General Group results announced

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Friday announced the results of the Class-IX General Group (Regular and Private), Secondary School Certificate Part-I annual examinations.

As per the results gazette, 15,539 candidates registered for the General (Regular) group, of which 15,200 students appeared for the exam and 14,947 passed all papers. The pass percentage was calculated at 98.34 percent.

According to the BSEK’s acting exams controller, Khalid Ehsan, 253 students failed to clear their exams, while 7,821 candidates cleared all five papers, bringing the pass percentage to 51.45 percent.

He said that 3,827 students passed four papers and the pass percentage was 25.18 percent; 1,835 candidates cleared three papers and the pass percentage was 12.07 percent; 1,044 students passed two papers with a pass percentage of 6.87 percent, whereas 420 candidates passed only one paper and the pass percentage was 2.76 percent.

The official added that 3,765 male students were registered for the papers, of which 3,510 candidates appeared for the exams. Of these, 2,049 students cleared all five papers; 811 candidates passed four papers; 328 students managed to clear three papers; 291 candidates passed two papers, and 150 students cleared just one paper.

The statistics for females were; 11,774 females registered for the papers, of which 11,690 students appeared for the exams. A total of 5,772 candidates passed all five papers; 3,016 students cleared four papers; 1,507 candidates passed three papers; 753 students managed to clear two papers, while 270 candidates passed one paper only.

In the General (Private) group, a total of 7,430 students were registered, of which 6,854 candidates appeared. A total of 6,687 students passed the exams, while 167 candidates failed to clear the papers. Of these, 3,170 students cleared all five papers at a pass percentage of 46.25 percent; 1,594 candidates passed four papers at a pass percentage of 23.26 percent; 983 students cleared three papers at a pass percentage of 14.34 percent; 505 candidates managed to clear two papers and the pass percentage was 7.37 percent, while 435 candidates passed only one paper at a pass percentage of 6.35 percent.

As per the results gazette, 5,385 male students were registered and 4,951 candidates appeared for the exams. Of these, 2,218 students cleared all five papers; 1,186 candidates passed four papers; 689 students cleared three papers; 370 candidates passed two papers, and 333 students cleared just one exam.

As for females, 2,045 female students were registered and 1,903 candidates appeared for the exams. Of these, 952 students cleared all five papers, 408 candidates passed four exams; 294 students cleared three exams; 135 candidates passed two exams, and 102 students cleared one paper.
