Improvement in Pakistani schools vital for overseas Pakistanis: Javed Malik

MANAMA, Bahrain: Mr Javed Malik, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, has said that it remains his top priority to work towards improving the quality of education being provided to overseas Pakistanis living in Bahrain and the Gulf region by Pakistani schools.

He was speaking to prominent educationist  Syed Azhar Husnain Abidi who visited the ambassador at the Pakistan Embassy, Bahrain, to discuss various initiatives and proposals aimed at addressing the issues in the field of education faced by the overseas Pakistanis based in Bahrain and the Gulf region.

Ambassador Javed Malik while welcoming the suggestions by Syed Azhar Husnain Abidi said that the destiny of the future generations of overseas Pakistanis is dependent on quality education and it is therefore essential that we evolve a mechanism that addresses this issue and provides an adequate solution to meet the community needs.  

The establishment of a good Pakistani university to cater to the children of over four million Pakistani diaspora in the Gulf region also came under discussion. 

Syed Abidi also held meetings with the staff and management of all Pakistani schools in Bahrain and will meet senior officials and top academics in Bahrain. He will also take part in a special meeting of Pakistani Schools being held at the Embassy of Pakistan under the Chairmanship of Ambassador Javed Malik.
